7 Steps to Moral Freedom

Posted by admin2  filed under Bible, Morally, Pure   0 Comment(s)    Add a Comment  comment-icon.png

We live a crazy world where it seems like the wrong thing is the right or acceptable thing and the moral thing to do is now less acceptable. The Bible commands us as Christians to live a pure and holy (set apart) life a life that is pleasing to God, not ourselves. How do accomplish such a life when we live in a sex saturated, broken moral compass sin is king world?

Simply by knowing the truth and chasing after God! Let’s see what looks like and how we go about it.

Define Moral purity-

Moral- arising from conscience: sense of right or wrong
Purity- the absence, or degree of absence, of anything harmful, inferior, unwanted, or of a different type
Immorality- Wickedness, Sin, Dishonesty, Iniquity, Debauchery = unrestrained self-indulgent behavior, or an instance of this

Look at 1 Corinthians 6:15-20

Verse 15 – the word Prostitute is used and we define that as- one who sells themselves for an undeserving cause

Verse 18 we find the word “FLEE” This literally means to turn around and run as fast as you can away from.

Philippians 4:8

Keep list of items with you to help you focus on God.

If you invest $1000 after a period, you gain interest on that account. You would not swindle your money on useless items. So then why do it with your marriage your relationship with God, your morality.

There are probably people in your life or you personally who are currently struggling with moral purity. I want to give you a tool that is going to help you gain back your Moral Freedom. So whether you are going through it or helping someone through it apply these steps.

7 Steps to Moral Freedom

Step 1 Admit you are trapped in sin - Go and tell-find an accountability partner-let spouse/parents know start the healing process.

1 John 1:9

1 John 2:1-2

Step 2 Recognize the battle begins in your mind

Romans 1:21

Also recognize that the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same exact Spirit that can break the bonds of evil in our minds.

See this as a siege on a mental stronghold

2 Cor. 10:3-5

Destroy strongholds with scripture

Romans. 12:2

Step 3 Meditate on Scripture 3 key times

Joshua 1:8

Don’t just read but learn, know, and live it

Step 4 Make no provisions-

Romans 13:13-14

Not one little piece-If you will not get rid of the material then you are not serious. If you try to make an excuse why you need it, you are not serious.

Step 5 Make a covenant with your eyes

Job 31:1

Step 6 Become accountable to someone who as already achieved freedom

2 Timothy 2:22

Step 7 Priority of pursuit

Galatians 5:1

You cannot do it on your own and you must keep at it. You are never truly free from our desires.

James 3:1

Paraphrased “you know better so you will get a worse punishment”

Now YOU know better!!!

My hope and prayer is that if you are struggling in this area of your life please look to getting free. The world needs more morally free and God-fearing people in it. Get plugged into your local church and become an active part of what God is doing.

Until next time!!

Shalom!
